June Book Study - Out of Sorts, by Sarah Bessey

Sundays at 11:00am

Grace Church's June Book Study (which begins on May 31!), will focus on a beautiful book written by Sarah Bessey, titled "Out of Sorts." Sarah was scheduled to come to our diocese in June to share with us her thoughts, studies, writings, and faith stories. Sadly, this event has been postponed.  We can, however, enjoy her book together May 31, June 7, June 14, June 21, and June 28. The books are on the way, and for those who indicate their interest by emailing or calling Sue-Ann, a book will be delivered safely to your home in time for you to prepare for the study.

Here is what others have said about Sarah and her book:

As she candidly shares her wrestlings with core issues—such as who Jesus is, what place the Church has in our lives, how to disagree yet remain within a community, and how to love the Bible for what it is rather than what we want it to be—she teaches us how to walk courageously through our own tough questions.

In the process of gently helping us sort things out, Bessey teaches us how to be as comfortable with uncertainty as we are with solid answers. And as we learn to hold questions in one hand and answers in the other, we discover new depths of faith that will remain secure even through the storms of life.

After you have entered the meeting, and your video and audio connection is established, please mute your microphone, as we wait in silence to begin.

We will begin with a welcome, followed by a reflection or reading and then a period of meditative silence.  After the meditation, there will be an opportunity for voluntary sharing.  We will close our gathering with a prayer.
